Description
RekSeal is sterile, non-histotoxic, biodegradable, biocompatible, haemostatic, bacteriostatic and non-allergic, it is a monomer but when it comes in contact with moisture it gets converted into polymers. It rapidly forms a strong clear bond with tissue by chemical reaction of polymerization within one minute. It does not get absorbed into the blood stream. It is devoid of complications like secondary inflammation reactions which are commonly seen with conventional tedious procedure of percutaneous sutures.
RekSeal (n- Butylcyanoacrylate) clearly ensures:
* Simple, easy application
* Strong rapid bonding
* Aided haemostasis
* Reduced treatment time
* Reduces Scarring
* No tissue staining
* Devoid of carcinogenicity
* Lower risk of infection
* Least histotoxicity
Precaution: –
• RekSeal is sterile tissue adhesive for single use only. Discard the left-over adhesive.
• Liquid preparation of RekSeal must be used.
• Discard the ampoules containing viscous state of liquid tissue adhesive.
• Do not allow the contact of tissue adhesive – RekSeal with surgical instruments, gloves, or fingers during the procedure of application.
• Antibiotic ointment or other topical preparation should not be used as they can weaken the polymerized film and lead to dehiscence.
• When changing the dressing, tape should not be placed directly over the RekSeal adhesive film, because removing the tape later may also remove the film.
Contraindications: –
RekSeal should not be used for the closure of contaminated wound, wound with active bleeding, for vascular surgery and wound on the surface of brain or central and peripheral nervous system.
